I think below is a good start, but also, try running the train the other way. Best thing to do would be use the ohm meter, and compare the 2 turnouts.

You also might have ok luck with Model Railroader/ Classic Toy Trains. In addition to a form, they should have some articles free to view, and the subject has probably been covered 1000 times there.
