I finished cutting beans Monday before the rains and cold spell set in and realized I don't have enough wood cut yet. Well with dad on the mend and things slowing down now and with rain coming in for Sunday I figured I better get to cutting while its warm. Well it didn't take long and dad had to come over and help me load wood. I saved the elevator from the scrap man and a new coil and spark plug and it was running good and works good for fire wood. Dad got up in the bed and started stacking as I was splitting. 1/2 of the bed is stacked and dad got tired and I helped him down from the bed and into his truck and to the house for a cup of coffee and back to work I went as dad was ready for a nap. I think he over did it but you cant tell him to slow down. At 5.30 I was done and tired, Truck is not quite full but its close. I have yet to burn a full truck load over a winter in the last 5 years but if I don't fill it I will surly run out. I think tomorrow I will get her full and be done with it for the year and I can put everything back in the barn for the winter and take it easy for a while. RIGHT! Never going to happen! I got ready to leave and stopped at the house to check on dad and mom said dad took a 2 hour nap, Dad said it was only 1/2 hour nap and not to believe her. I told dad at 75 he could take all the naps he wanted to, You have earned it! Mom just rolled her eyes up. As I was going out the door dad asked what time will you be hear in the morning? Why? So I can help you load that's why. Be hear at 10 OK? I will have the coffee ready and ready to work. Ok dad see you tomorrow. I wish he would slow down some but I don't think he will. Got home sit down for a while went to answer the phone and liked to died getting out of the chair and naturally no ben-gay in the house. Cant wait till the morning. Bandit

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
