Sometimes it doesn't matter email or phone. I talked to one guy on the phone at 8 a.m. told him I was on my way and would be there at 10 a.m. since it was a 2 hour drive. I showed up at 10 and he had sold it at 8:30. He tried to pay me for gas. I told him he should pay for my time instead, but he didn't like my wages. I certainly understand not holding something "until next week", you don't know if they'll show up. But an hour and a half would have been reasonable.
