Wife's friend got a line on a couple rescued male llamas. We agreed to take one of them and she had a couple in her flock that also needed to be neutered. Checked around, and the vet we chose was Dr. Pol from Weidman. If you're familiar with the National Geographic channel, they have a program featuring the exploits of the good doctor in his practice. Well we got there, and were met by a whole camera crew. They interviewed us as we waited on the lawn for the Dr. Then they videoed the whole procedure(s). (Ain"t pretty - especially if you're the victim.) And an exit interview as well. So if you're watching the Dr. Pol series, be on the look out for us. Our friends Deb and Deiter have the two white miniature llamas, Linda and I had the rusty colored full sized llama. We needed to get them neutered because they will be kept with our Shetland sheep as guard animals, and intact males will try to mate with the sheep injuring them or worse. Also tends to cool down their aggressiveness. So if you're a watcher of National Geographic channel, watch for us. (We don.t get that here - no cable, no satellite.)
