Subarus are good cars, but they are a different breed of Asian car. They are not trouble free as most would think of a Toyota or Honda. They like being maintained almost like a European car, but they tend to attract a different breed of owner that wears the maintenance as a badge of honor. The only thing that sticks out to me is their autos shift different, they all feel the same, though. They have timing belts that need changed at certain intervals. They can be hard to find a shop that is not afraid of them. The awd works great in the wet and slush, but they are not off road machines that their commercials suggest.
