Sam, thanks for the post and the photos! Never having actually taking the time to research the moors, I have , for years, carried images from school geography books , which painted them as very desolate and inhospitable places, not to mention, "Hound of the Baskervilles", although the setting is in another location than Yorkshire. Your photos show these moors to be not exceedingly different from other places. Hi-tech even judging by the photos of the windmills.
