The reason dogs have been with us for 10,000 years is because they are SO trainable. You trained your dog to be that way, either by encouraging the behavior or allowing it. You can train it different if you choose. If you don't train it different then don't complain. Maybe you just enjoy it. That's ok. My mother would never let our dog be in the same room when we were prepairing or eating any kind of food. I always did the same thing. No sniffing in the fridge when you open it, no waiting for scraps at the counter or table. And never, ever ANY people food. Dog was used to it. She had a happy life.
