Edd, you better check your facts. Canada not only has a higher tax rate (15-48% income tax) but higher gas taxes and a nation sales tax on top of that. Add in local and property taxes and it's even higher. Germany too has higher taxes as does Great Britain and France. In fact when I left Germany in 93 they were paying the equivalent of over 5 US dollars a US gallon for gas because of taxes. Guess what? It's all tied to nation health care in those countries. France's tax rate is so high people are renouncing their citizenship and moving to other countries.
FYI it's developed nations, not civilized. All nations have varying degrees of civilization and are therefore civilized, just some more than others.
Further more the post was about misinterpreted names. Not misinterpreted figures.
