Must be different brands/designs, and expectations of what it should like. It's ground pretty fine but not what I would call "powder." We put some wheat in the feed year before last (poor corn crop) and a 3/16" screen would let a few whole kernals pass. Local feed mills, (the ones that are left) grind about to the same fineness. Chickens and hogs use the same screen.
Back to the belt: I checked out my pulley rotation on the tractor and on the mill. To keep the belt away from me when feeding the mill, looks like I will have to run it with a twist.
