My tenant called me to tell me his hall light didn't work, one day when I was daydreaming about driving a tractor. Tractor related, right? I use Seafoam in all my equipment, too.
I noticed the light would work when one of the three-way switches was turned one way but not when it was turned the other way. Thinking that had to be the broken one, I changed it out. Nope. Changed the other one out and everything worked like it was supposed to. Is there a better way to tell which switch is bad in a situation like that? I know just enough about wiring to not get shocked too often.
