Dave,Thanks for the reply. The vet (lady) was a replacement vet who left to go to South America to teach . The lady vet was sort of new to the clinic so when the swelling was first noticed like a small sebaceous cyst showed up on his right side I had Victor take him in to have the vet take a look see. she was asked if it could be a cancerous growth starting. She visually looked,her reply was NO( No x-ray was taken). sure as he-- was. Now that could have been treated (Lymphosarcoma coupled with blastomycosis. all treatable over in Minn.90% rate of cure,but because of her inept experience,we lost a very good friend,and family member. When we first started at the local vet clinic, it was privately owned, sometime later (unbeknown to us) it was sold to a Corporation. They had the X-ray machine there,could have done that diagnosis,and we would have drove to Mn, to start the treatment to save him. Our locals here are not to my opinion worth going to for even a case of pink eye treatment,so we talked to alot of breeders(well known) and asked for their opinion and information,so this will never happen to one of our friends again. I will not try to explain all the troubles we went thru with both the local vets here,just say inept is putting it mildly.Just say we will do everything possible to let other local people here know about our experience here,and not recommend the local vets here to friends and acquaintances,who love their pets. In Mn. they have the highest quality of vets around,its a full hospital, with qualified vets for every breed of canine.Have different sections for cats,cattle,horses,sheep etc, all separate,but in one area.Plus latest equipment,and diagnostic procedures.That is where we will go if our new (male) vet doesn't know.That's his promise not to guess,and our promise to our new friend if in doubt of the new vets diagnosis.It will become a need to know basis and we need to know.Thanks again for your reply, LOU
