We have done the Cumbres & Toltec ride a couple of times riding from Antonito to Chama , and Chama to Antonito. They are like two different rides. The scenery is great,its like turning the clock back a hundred or more years.
There is no need for reservations. The two trains meet approxamately at the half way point for lunch which is included in the price of your ticket. Its a first rate meal too.
