Dear Mr. Guth,

Well, I AM a lawyer, but some of my best friends drive, repare, restore and research tractors. Being in this fairly unusual situation, enables me to explain that a.) it seems obvious where your question is going. As soon as someone replies, "Yes, indeed, the Jhguth Tractor Co. of Culo de Raton, TX. did indeed manufacture a tractor with a 'unitized frame,' designed to support the various machanical components in the event of a rollover, thereby preventing foreseeable serious personal injury and death," you will pounce on it with a lawyerly Aha! and offer it as proof that the tractor company whose product caused severe personal injury and/or death to your unfortunate and blameless client should likewise have done so. b.) MOST people who operate tractors have better sense than to drive them into situations where they will roll over. If there are situations where a responsible operator could not foresee a rollover, but such nevertheless occurs, it should be obvious that a manufacturer could not be held liable for having failed to predict and prevent such an occurrence any more than the operator.

Cordially,

mrs jogg

Oh, a footnote (you like those) "Highway tractors" are trucks.

Today's Featured Article - Ford Part Number Trivia - by Forum Participants. "Replaced by" means the part was superseded. All of my part books date back to 1964 and New Holland have changed some part numbers. They usually put the old Ford part number on the package. I was suppressed when I looked up the part number of the auxiliary drive shaft because for some reason the part number went through a radical change and it lost its "Basic Part Number". Ford part numbers follow the following rules. Most part numbers are in three parts. The middle part is called the ... [Read Article]
