Setting the float springs is not hard. Just let the head down into the cutting position. Then lift the head by hand on the push bar. Just adjust it to where it feels the same on both sides. How heavy it is on the ground is not an exact number anyway. If you get it too light it will ride over the hay. If you get it too loose then the skids will mark the stand. I usually adjust mine to where I can lift it with one hand. That is usually about right.
