All of my projects end up costing at least twice the price in repairs as I pay for the item and take about four times the time I imagine they will take to complete, not to mention being spread out all over the garage for weeks, months and in one case about 1 1/2 yrs. You know, you crawled before you learned to walk. Learning the basics from your father on a much smaller scale and cheaper project, say rebuilding an early JD lawnmower / rototiller might fit the bill. Hope fully it would take less $$, space and time to complete the project. At his age he probably would enjoy mowing the lawn with the finished project working in a garden with a rototiller as much as he did full fledged farming. After all what ever the project, the time spent with your dad will be price less, good for you, know just get to it!!
