We have had a JD 4600 for 12 years, bought it new, 750 hours, I have never really needed the JD dealer. I used to buy my filters and oil there but last year mother Deere forced the local family that had owned and run it for 70 years to sell out to a large dealer. Now I will buy Wix filters from O'Reillys and Delvac from L&M! The only problem with the tractor has been 2 broken valve stems from sticks breaking them off when cutting brush, that's mainly what we use the tractor for.
