Jon, there are a number of people out there that hates the fact that Microsoft is the dominate operating system out there. Some of those are Apple/Mac users and others prefer Linux. Add in that anyone can create a page or submit articles on pages an you are going to get a lot of fact and fiction, plus a lot of confusion. About 10-15 years ago, Jobs at Apple claimed that Windows was a great deal less secure than the Mac OS. Within days several antivirus producers release the total number of security risk in the newest Window and in Apple/Macs OS. Apple/Mac had 3 times the risks. Shortly after Jobs again made a statement that there have never been a virus attack against Apple. This time his statement was true. For about 24 hours. After that Apple was fair game too. Prior to his statement Apples market share was about 7% of the market. The folks writing malicious software didn't mess with Apple because of a why mess with 7% when you can attack 80-90%.
