computer users beware.

If you've been running Windows for more than a week and haven't figured out it is inherently insecure, you are in a state of denial.

Jon, there are a number of people out there that hates the fact that Microsoft is the dominate operating system out there. Some of those are Apple/Mac users and others prefer Linux. Add in that anyone can create a page or submit articles on pages an you are going to get a lot of fact and fiction, plus a lot of confusion. About 10-15 years ago, Jobs at Apple claimed that Windows was a great deal less secure than the Mac OS. Within days several antivirus producers release the total number of security risk in the newest Window and in Apple/Macs OS. Apple/Mac had 3 times the risks. Shortly after Jobs again made a statement that there have never been a virus attack against Apple. This time his statement was true. For about 24 hours. After that Apple was fair game too. Prior to his statement Apples market share was about 7% of the market. The folks writing malicious software didn't mess with Apple because of a why mess with 7% when you can attack 80-90%. Your best source is going to be actual Software Mags for info on security risks.

Hey Jon.

I bought a new ASUS computer that had windows 8 pre-loaded on it.

It is the worst version of windows I have ever used being designed for a touch screen.

As for your computer being remote-controlled the only way to be sure that it won't happen is to disconnect from the cable modem or phone line.

Good post though.
