I just wash mine in the regular washer in the house. I pre-soak the hand rags in a tub with a strong mix of Simple Green. Then run them in the washer on the longest cycle that is has. Then I just wash a load of my work cloths after the rags. The load of work cloths seems to "clean" up anything left by the shop rags.
I keep a box of the throw away Blue paper towels for the first swipe of some thing like the grease in a gear case. These I throw away. It is just common sense to not throw a rag with a glob of grease into the washed rag pile.
