I'm a bit of an idiot! I did some searching around and it seems my notes about the actual ages of the tractors I grew up around are wrong!
The 584 I grew up with was always said to have been a 1977 and was said to have replaced a 484 that was traded in that year. The production dates disagree! Neighbour has a picture of the pair of 484's from the farm on her wall from about that time so I'm guessing the 584 must have been bought as a left over an the 484's were bought in the late 70s'.
