I think it has significance with your daughter from what you have told us here. If were me, in your shoes, and there was no real urgent need, money for an emergency or similar, you have a place to store it, and you could alternate a little time to using it for some of the tasks the 2000 does, I'd want to keep it, run it periodically. There seems to be time when things like this don't seem so important as they once were and you could part with it without regret, years later, thinking back you may think different for one reason or another.
