At least the transmission/drive train stays in them and the steering column and dash dont rattle like our Gooberment Motors Corp.
I owned a crew cab Z71 GMC and sold it with 29,000 miles because I couldnt stand the frontend and cab rattles. It also had a throttle surge that the dealer could never figure out.
Every company has their problems but I'll take a 2004 and up Ford any day over the other choices.
My friend is a mechanic and a hard core old school GM man. He drives GM only but tells that the 2004 and up Ford drivetrain is flawless. He also claims that Ford sparkplug blowouts are not a Ford problem but rather that some jackleg mechanic flawed the install. He has never had one blow out.
I'll say that the old TBI GM's were simple and worked well but after 95 and even 98 it's a real hat toss...
