Actually... the 302 truck engine is cammed a bit different than the car version. The two have a lot in common... but a lot different as well, particularly on the intake side with a long riser, etc. I had an '89 F150 with 302 M50D 5 speed and 3.55 rears. It never had much guts in O/D but was decent in direct and would pull like a badger in third. Just keep it wound up to 3000 or so. After 3500 it was running out of wind.
