A few years ago I was working at an underground mine that was 106 miles from my yard to the parking lot. I had to drive through a really small town with a 50 mph limit. It was 65 up to there and I didn't slow down cuz I was running late for whatever reason. It was about 11 at night and there was no one else on the road. I was pulled over by an older county deputy. He asked me what was the rush that I didn't slow down through town. I told him I was late for work. He asked me where I worked and when I told him he said that I better get going and to leave earlier and slow down through town. A week later he stopped me again doing 10 over on another country road. When he saw who I was he said "Late again?" I said yes and he told me to either move closer to the job or like he said before, leave earlier. I don't think a younger cop would have been as understanding, especially the second time.
