The main system pressure would have been 2250 PSI on a Massey 1105. The higher pressures did not come until the late 1980s and early 90s. Many of today's tractors run 3000 PSI system pressures but the old standard was 2250 PSI from about the early 1960s.
I am not familiar with a MF 1105 at all but it is an open center system. It sounds like the main system relief valve is just set too low or the main pump is shot.
Post this down in the Massey forum and they will tell you pretty quickly what it should be.
