I know why. There are people that will park next to a single car because they know that the people park there for that very reason. They get a kick out of it. I know people that do that. What really gripes me is that people will park farther to right in a parking spot so they can easily get out of their car, but don't worry about the one they block out. In that case my door might accidentally rub against their car. Note I said accidentally.
