I could never lay down during a thunderstorm. I usually have to go from window to window to see what is happening. One time though as I was talking with my son on the phone the wind turned into a sound like a jet engine roaring. I told him I was heading to the basement. Turned out a tornado had taken a couple of 80 ft. power lines down just 1/2 mile from my house.
