When my nephew started farming his folks land, I started buying him tools and hardware as his dad only had a few old wrenches. I've sent him all kinds of hardware, (springs, keys, bolts, braces, etc.) as it's 40 miles to the nearest town where he can buy that kind of thing.
Every once in awhile he tells me that he needed something and was able to find it in the hardware that I've sent him - which saves him a long trip to town and back.
Didn't cost me a lot and helps him in his farming operation. His Dad, mother and his wife have all passed away, so he is doing everything himself until his son gets old enough to help him.
