Ive got a 99 'classic 1500' (old body style like 98) with almost 300K on it. needless to say ive replaced about 4 pumps in it, and i have to do it again, they are notorious for going out. Tahoe will have to have the tank dropped. pickups are easier, i just undo the tailight harness, take the 6 boltsou t and slide the bed back about a foot. pump is right there behind the cab. easy removal
as noted by otheres, replace everything when yo do it. fuel tank sock, and in line filter.
