Was out driving a few days ago - paying property taxes - and saw a pair of 6 row planters. One was pulled by a big Case tractor, duals, looked to be 150 - 175 hp.
Other one was pulled by a JD tractor, dualed, front wheel assist. Looked to be a tad bigger than the Case.
Wow.
I just got a 6 row with dry fert, and am pulling it with my Ford 5200, around 60 hp. Been working fine.
Did run it out of fuel the other day, guess I should get the fuel gauge fixed some day..... 135 acres on about 2 fills, so something like half a gallon an acre, probably less as dont know really what I started with, and only planted 7 acres on the last fill.
