It is not good to use 2,4-D as a pre-emergent. It is very commonly used with a burndown treatment and used to be used commonly as a post-emergent treatment, although it can really "ding" some varieties of corn. If you put it down on a crop that hasn"t emerged and you get a rain to put it in the seed zone you can serverely affect the germination of your crop. Not a good plan by any means. If you have weeds get them killed BEFORE you plant. Mike
