The weatherman says we are over by about 3-5 inches for our "yearly average" but I tilled my garden spot up the other day and 3" down it's powder dry. I live about 80 miles from the coast in what is known as the "Big Thicket" area with extensive pine forests and multiple rivers and creeks running through the area and they are all well below their normal levels. It's been so dry here for the past two years that we need 8-10 inches over a 2 week period so it will soak in. If the weather pattern puts a High Pressure system over us this summer and it just sits in one place we are going to be hurting.
