I've never seen chains on a feed truck or livestock truck in these parts. Usually a farmer nearby has a large tractor handy. If a loaded truck is mired in mud I doubt of chains will get him out. Seems like a good way to twist a drive shaft. The feed hauling business is short haul so they can choose to stay at the mill if conditions get bad enough to be dangerous but springtime mud conditions can pose a problem, especially at new hog sites that haven't settled yet. The livestock has to eat so the trucks can't sit around too long.
My son's truck was empty when he was pulled out. He said it would have made a good Dodge Cummins commercial cause the guy who pulled him out did it with a new Dodge Cummins. LOL The pickup's wheels were making rooster tails and the pickup was jumping and weaving but it did the job. Jim
