Bryce, if all the pieces are there for the mounted plow I say go for it....
I understand where you are coming from with the B not pulling the 2-14. A mid year B is a 2-14 tractor only in loamy soil. My late B can be overloaded with a 2-12 here in some of our soils even with new shears. Sometimes a 3-16 is too much for my 720 diesel as well. The size of plow you can pull is not governed by the folks on this board that dont understand heavy soil (one of my yankee friends says that we dont have soil, but rather concrete, after attending a local plowday). It's governed by what you can pull, granted that a plow with good shears and adjusted properly will draft much lighter.
Also be aware that there is a single bottom drawn plow. It is the #51 plow. It is available in a couple different widths.
