Virginia is a little different. You can put plates on any size truck that says FARM USE; don't even need a license or inspection to drive it within 30 miles of the farm and you are supposed to only haul farm supplies or products. Then there a regular plate with the words on the top or bottom (I forget which) "Farm Use". With that plate you need a license (no CDL) and inspection and can go 150 miles from the farm. I find it great for vehicles i only use during harvest however there are individuals that take advantage and go all over the state.
