There was one Cat engine (could have been a 3176, not sure) that had a weak camshaft that Cat ( to my knowledge) would not admit that it had a problem and therefore would not/did not improve the camshaft. I had on in a '95 Volvo/White and #3 injector lobe wore out and a new camshaft would still have the same problem. Better look into this pontential problem. I hope you do not have this engine. By the way I replaced that truck with a '91 Peterbilt with a 3406 Cat. Armand
