Always, always mention if you have a 1962-64 4 cylinder 4000 or a 1965-75 3 cyl 4000 though in this case those seals are about the same. There should be a rubber oring and a leather backing washer. Is the leather washer split? It should not be. Generally you have to boil them in a pan of water to soften them enough to stretch over the piston.
