I enjoyed your story and my heart went out to the two of you as you were starting you new lives as a married couple.
I also never had the approval of my in laws. They were city folks, not achievers either, and I was a country boy. I made good in the farming busines, but always was reminded by her folks that I didn't add up.This affected our married lives and eventually we divorced after 18 years. My first wife could not stand up for us, always had to be swayed by her folks.
My second wife and I have made a wonderful and even more successful life for ourselves. We have been married for 20 years. I am thankful for her everyday. If you don't have a woman who is beside of you and you beside her, you don't have much of a life or a marriage.
