Going to use my 5000 Ford for planting this Spring and yesterday evening I put my rear wheels on 6' centers, on my front end the axle tube will freely slide in and out but could not get the steering rods to budge so that I could widen the front to 6', must be rusted some internally. Since my front wheels are on a 5' center at the moment I was thinking about reversing the wheels, as they have a 6" offset that would an extra 1' width to give me 6' center if I did it this way. Anybody see a problem with me doing it like this, it would be easier and quicker than trying to free up the two stuck steering rods. Neighbor told me it may put to much stress on wheel bearings if I were to reverse the front wheels. How about some opinions.
