We have a 2001 JD 4600 with about 700 hrs on it. I have always used JD 5-30 oil in it but I plan to switch to a common 15-40 diesel oil, mainly because the local JD dealer had to sell out to a big chain. I have been planning on using Mobil Delvac 1300, or Shell Rotella. What does anyone suggest? any good/bad experience? If we put more hours on it per year I would consider synthetic, but at less than 100 hrs a year I don"t think it would be a good idea. Thanks in advance!
