It was indeed San Diego. What a beautiful city. If I was ever forced to live in the screwed up state of California, this is where I'd be.
It was quite an experience to watch the Carl Vinson leave port. Being from the midwest, it's not something I'll probably ever see again. We were on the Midway at night- our group of about 2500 had it to ourselves from 6:30 to 10:30 Monday evening. A great meal on the flight deck, with tours and access to the simulators.
Only had 5 days there- would sure like to go back. There's plenty to see and do. My 24 year old son was able to go with us. I don't get to spend much time with him anymore, so it made the trip really memorable.
