I doubt it. We have an 86 model that keeps binding up the switch mechanism. I have had the column apart several times. The way the cast parts are made there is too much friction on the parts. Thought I would fix it good the last time. Cleaned the moving parts up real good and greased the heck out of them. Big mistake. Got cold out and the grease got hard. Almost couldn't turn the key. I took the switch assembly out and sprayed penetrating oil down in the bottom. Helped a little till it got cold again. Put in a new used column last fall and the key is still hard to turn in it. May take it out when it warms up and clean all the parts and just oil them this time.
