The seller is normally the first to leave feedback, usually right when the item ships. That's when I leave feedback for a buyer, it's part of the commnication. Think about it, the seller is paid and the item is shipped, the seller's only role left is to leave feedback, why not do it then. Positive feedback is more important for a seller than for a buyer, why antagonize a buyer by waiting.
If the buyer does leave less than positive feedback the seller can still leave a response to that feedback. As a buyer I feel it is rude when a seller waits until after I leave feedback.
