Thats what I thought at first, just a switch to turn the damn dinger on. But I cut away the seat cover on the old seat and there is a substancial steel cable running from the switch to the seat belt buckle, and it looks to be part of a spring loaded device. Looks like a very hard pull on the buckle compresses the spring and trips the switch. Phycially I see no damage to the belts and they extend and retract fine. I guess there are other sensors that can set off the airbags, so maybe the occupants weren't even wearing belts when this thing rolled.
