I wondered why the ship did not have diesel back up generators. Back up generators should have kept everything electrical working while the ship was dead in the water. That cruise ship is pretty much a little city at sea. Air craft carriers down to destroyers have back up generators, not sure of anything smaller. Back up generator would have been a good investment. Or maybe the engineering crew don't know how to start them up.
