Had a guy like that- he got fired a little over a year ago. He got his 5th DUI after a company sponsered softball game. They stuck it out with him for quite a while after that, but then one day they finally woke up. He would drive the company trucks without a valid DL, lie to our faces then go kiss the owners back side. He'd talk down to us all the time and mis-manage the shop.
At one point, our efficiencies were around 80%, and on-time deliveries were below 50%. The average over the several years he was in that position were in the low 80's or lower....
Since the month he was fired, our numbers shot up, and the last 4 months we've been averaging better than 105% efficient, and about 99% on time deliveries for the last year.
I got a considerable raise a month ago, along with most other guys in the shop...
