In some places the cream rises to the top, in other places it's the scum that rises to the top. If where you work is the latter, give up, go find another job and then quit. Your sanity is worth more than their money. I have told bosses "I was looking for work when I came here and I'll be looking for work when I leave". If it is a good place with only one bad egg it is likely worth riding out and waiting for the hire-ups to see that he's no good. When it comes right down to it, they don't own you, they only rent you, and if the rent isn't good enough to put up with the BS, don't.
