Mine will be 20 years old tomorrow; 1st generation Cummins in a '93 dually.....totally stock. Special ordered about the first of the year and it was delivered on February 14, 1993. Something better than 300,000 miles (speed-o-meter is broken). Replaced the starter and radiator; except for wear items brakes and tires), everything else is just like I got it...........well, the paint's not as black as it was. Almost afraid to say it, but even the air conditioner still works. The 5-speed Getrags have a bad reputation, but I've had no problems........pulling a 32 ft gooseneck cattle trailer and 27 ft flatbed, before I retired. We've got newer vehicles, but this is still what I get in when I need to go locally. Haven't checked the mileage in years, but it usta get about 20 mpg empty. With 12-15,000# of cattle or an 150 hp tractor behind it, it was SLOW off the mark from a red light, but after the turbo spooled up, it ran just fine. I've no doubt that I'll own it 'til I die.
