You would have to have an extremely weak grip to be unsafe,and it still can be done with a two hand hold.I've yet to hear of anyone that was damaged by firing factory loads,by that I mean the shooter,not the receiver.lol. If the gun was that dangerous for the shooter,there would be warning labels all over the box and gun.The derringer is not to be placed in the category of the 480 Ruger or 500 magnum, to me its around the recoil of the 380- 9mm.
