Hi I bought a 99 7.3 4x4 auto last year to fix up. Its got 525000 KMS on it. motor starts and runs good, put new batteries in last night. started it in a cold Manitoba blizzard this morning without pluggin it in, and it fired up as good as my 5.7 GM gas. The bodys not bad but it needs a lot of front end work for the safety test up here in Canada. The motors heavy and hard on parts like others have said. I looked at a 6.0 diesel on an 03 when i got this. Everybody told me to buy the 7.3 as it would be a better truck with twice the kms on the motor. The 6.0 ford diesel is rubbish if you get a bad one. all I hear of is problems and no good ones round here so steer clear of them. I know one guy had a 7.3 his guys all drove it like it was stolen. Got 950.000 on it never touched the motor. Only reason they stopped using it was a guy crashed into it on a parts run down south. Ask me in a month how I like mine it's in my shop now being fixed for the safety.
